Rapid Appraisal of the Olive Oil Market Chain in Lebanon; November, 2004 (3MB). A team from SRI International and the Social and Cultural Development Association (INMA) conducted a rapid appraisal (RA) of the olive oil market chain in Lebanon from mid-May to mid-July 2004. The principal objectives of this RA were to: (1) Gain a systems view of how the olive oil market chain is organized, operates and performs; (2) Identify the olive oil supply situation and trends, particularly for extra virgin oil; (3) Diagnose supply chain problems that require attention and action; (4) Determine ways of ensuring higher levels of extra virgin olive oil in the future; (5) Determine whether there is sufficient exportable supply.
